Planting Trees

Yesterday I reported that we had planted trees on the property that we had been given but didn’t give any photos of the frangapani’s so I’m putting the photo’s up now. We also have been moving mountains of mulch around the property that we had made from the Wattle and other trees we had removed. In all 26 trees were removed so as you can imagine the pile of mulch is quite large! Hope you like these...

The Bathroom (Part 2) The concrete cutting

On Tuesday I picked up the concrete saw from the hire company in Murwillumbah to cut the concrete in the bathroom. We had a long discussion about what type of saw to use because of the dust that would be created. It was decided that a dry electric saw was the best choice as there were no added fumes in a confined space and no water was required. As some of you may know concrete saws, or wet saws, use a large amount of water to keep the blade cool but we have laid solid bamboo in the adjoining room and it would have buckled once subjected to water. So the dry electric saw was the tool of choice. The cutting took about 4 hours and did make a lot of mess but it cut through the concrete with minimum fuss, now all there is to do is get my kanga hammer and break the concrete up.
