Since we moved to the farm we have had issues with the water and the pump. Before we moved in we had noticed that there was a large dead tree near our water storage tanks but what we didn’t see till we moved in was the extent of the damage that the tree had caused. Over time it had been loosing limbs and one had fallen on the poly tank and had crushed the top in! Once here other things over took the tanks and the tree and till nearly 9 months later Tony comes down the stairs saying we have no water and the pump was running dry. To cut the story short, the outlet bend on the concrete tank had perished and cut the flow of water some months before so the house had been using water only from the poly tank, which had run dry!
We sought the services of a professional commercial tank and pump man. Dror came to our rescue but set us on an expensive path of repair and reconstruction. First a temp line was run to the concrete tank to give the house water, then we had to excavate all the pipework to reveal the valves only to find the tanks were incorrectly connected and they had used garden hose plus the wear on the old pump meant we had to invest in new multi phase pump. Again Dror helped us through and we purchased a Lawarra pump which will give the property good pressure and save us up to 40 percent on power. So now the new pump was in we needed to focus on the tree and have it removed which again was necessary before doing any work on the poly tank, then finally we had the tank raised and recommissioned, only the power to go in for the new pump, retaining wall, blue stone and job done!
So now we have a great pump that gives great pressure, the tree is now safe and we have plenty of firewood plus the tanks are restored and back to former working order. Hmmmm, now on to the chook shed!!!!
