Round Mountain Girls

Last night Tony, Cathy (our neighbor) and myself had the opportunity to attend an event at our local Stokers Siding Hall. The Round Mountain Girls first came to our attention when we lived at Round Mountain Rd and had the fortune back in 2011 to see them perform at Twin Towns, we have seen them since and have enjoyed them immensely, last night was no exception! It was explained to us that the group are wanting to do a regional tour and to that end needed to test the water, so to speak, closer to home. So with a deal to donate profits to the hall, they embarked on a venture to present the locals with some fantastic entertainment. We arrived at 6.30pm and had vegi burgers and beer, then the first of the 3 acts hit the stage. An Irish entertainer named Jack O’leary fill the hall with great Irish folk melody’s and wowed the crowd. Then two young boys named Nick and Sam, from Yamba hit the stage. These two guys were amazing and to see them not just play their guitars but interact with them was truly amazing. Being young they are so willing to embrace new ideas and technologies and it showed in their work. If you go to www.you tube.com/Nick and Sam they have 4 video clips but are earlier and don’t do them justice. I have included a brief clip on my blog from last nights performance which may give you more of an idea of their talent. We had already thought we had go our moneys worth, well done Nick and Sam!!...
